Comments:

Morphological and taxonomic observations: when Orobanche colorata K. Koch. (1843) is considered to be conspecific with Orobanche anatolica Boiss. & Reut. (1847), then it is the correct and priority name for this taxon (Beck 1930: 275; Novopokrovskii & Tzvelev 1958: 113; Uhlich & al. 1995: 152). However, according to Novopokrovskii & Tzvelev (1958: 113), Orobanche anatolica Boiss. & Reut. (1847) is a different species to Orobanche colorata K. Koch. (1843). O. anatolica ... "distinguished by plentiful, usually partly whitish-woolly pubescence of the inflorescence" (e.g., G 00383282 et P 02982386 ["pilis niveis araneosis adpressis vestitus" (Reuter 1847: 17)]).

Phylogenetic observation: "Within the Orobanche group, Orobanche macrolepis [Boulardia latisquama] and Orobanche anatolica (including Orobanche colorata) constitute two phylogenetically distinct lineages..." (Schneeweiss & al. 2004; Carlón & al. in Documentos Jard. Bot. Atlántico (Gijón) 3: 61 f. 4 ["Phylogenetic relationships"], 63 (2005); Carlón & al. in Documentos Jard. Bot.
