Comments:

Morphological and phylogenetic observations: This species is morphologically (Carlón & al., 2005: 52 t. 18, 53 t. 19, 54 f. 2) and phylogenetically (Carlón & al., 2005: 59, 61; Carlón & al., 2008: 13, 117) very different to Orobanche lycoctoni Rhiner (1890-91) with which has sometimes been confused. (Schneeweiss & al., 2004 ["Phylogenetic relationships: ("AY209255: Georgia"; "AY209254: Austria")"; Carlón & al. in Documentos Jard. Bot.

Schultz (1829) (see Nuevas citas in Flora iberica) = Orobanche haenseleri Reut.]) (Carlón & al. in Documentos Jard. Bot. Atlántico (Gijón) 6: 13 f. 2 ["Phylogenetic relationships"], 117. 2008).
