Description. Stem 30,5-42(86,00) × 0,52-0,70(1,20) cm, simple, usually robust, purple-tinged at least  along the inflorescence, covered with long glandular hairs throughout (less densely towards the base) and with a crown of bracts in the apex. Leaves 10,9-15,0(25,0) × 3,0-5,0(6,0) mm, triangular-lanceolate. Inflorescence 8,4-17,0(41) × 3,5-4,0(4,2) cm, usually shorter than the rest of the stem [ratio long. infl. / long. stem = 0,25-0,47(0,49)]—, oblong [ratio width infl. / long. infl.= (0,10)0,22-0,35(0,47)], lax except in the apex, 20-39(76) flowers]; bracts (13,5)17-18 × 4,1- 5,7 mm, lanceolate, usually a bit shorter than the corolla [ratio long. bract / long. corolla = 0,82-0,94(1,00)], purple in colour, long and densely covered with glandular hairs (gland yellowish). Calyx (7,0)10,5- 16,3 × (2,9)3,4-4,1 mm with free, ± unequally two-toothed or entire segments, purple—lighter towards the base and deeper in the apical 2/3 and in the middle nerves of the teeth—, glandular-hairy throughout (yellowish gland) more densly in the teeth, which are (5)5,6-12,0 mm long, unequal, narrowly lanceolate, nearly as long or longer than the tube [ratio teeth / tube = 0,90-2,79]. Corolla 18-22 mm, ratio calyx / corolla= 0,39-0,76, erecto-patent [forming an angle of 36-50º with the axis of the inflorescence], ± tubular, dorsal line regularly curved (sometimes slightly deflexed at the apex), densely glandular-hairy in the outer surface (translucent hairs with yellowish gland), specially in the upper side, which is blue-purplish and contrasts vividly with the whitish ventral side; blue-purplish nerves; upper lip deeply bilobate, with lobes erect or bent forward during the anthesis, distant, ± oblong with rounded end and undulate, crenate-denticulate margins; lower lip trilobated, with deflexed, distant, rectangle-shaped and marginally ± crenate-denticulate lobes. Filaments (7,7)10-14,7 mm, inserted at (2,0)2,2-3,0 mm from the base, glabrous or glabrescent, whitish or slightly creamy in the lower half. Anthers 1,60- 1,94 × 0,7-1,12 mm [beak c. 0,31-0,46 mm], light brown, glabrous. Ovary yellowish, more or less broadly purple-tinged, glabrous or glabrescent. Style purplish, glabrous or glabrescent (a few short glandular hairs below the stigma). Stigma deep purple, with distinct spherical and approximate lobes.
